Wind Advisory Now in Effect Through Friday Night

First Alert Weather Days will continue Thursday and Friday as the noticeable wind is back blowing throughout Southern Nevada, after a short break. A Wind Advisory is now in effect through 7 PM Friday for the the Las Vegas Valley, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, along with northeastern and southern Clark County.
On Thursday, sustained south to southwest winds 15-25 MPH should be expected with gusts up to 45 mph. The stronger wind is reserved for Friday, with wind gusts pushing up to the 55 MPH range, especially across the western and southern edges of the Las Vegas Valley. Pockets of blowing dusts should be expected throughout the region through Friday.
High temperatures will hold around 70° Thursday and Friday.
Friday brings the chance for isolated showers over the local mountain ranges. The wind is being driven in by a storm coming in from the Pacific, though the Las Vegas Valley will remain mainly dry.
By this weekend, temperatures will rebound to more seasonable levels and the wind will wind down. Under the continued dry streak, high temperatures will back into the mid to low 60s Saturday and Sunday.
