For the second time this week, a new daily record high temperature was set in Las Vegas. Tuesday’s high temperature soared to 78° in Las Vegas, surpassing the 72-year-old previous record of 76°, set back in 1953. The average high this time of year is 61°.

Monday’s high temperature also set a new daily high record. Monday’s high hit 80°! On average, the first 80° day in Las Vegas is not felt until March 14th. The earliest 80° on record in Las Vegas is February 1, 2003.

A system in the Pacific Northwest is bringing a warming trend, pushing temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal.

The First Alert is up for Tuesday -- not because of the increase of temperatures, but the increase in wind. Windy conditions will take over the rest of the week, with the First Alert up for Tuesday-Friday. Wind gusts will push 30-40 MPH, with the strongest wind expected on Friday. Friday will also bring about a slight chance of mountain showers.

By the end of the week, temperatures will gradually cool back down to the low 60s.
