Warm Wind Arrives Today
Good morning!
Las Vegas saw record-breaking warmth on Monday afternoon, with temperatures soaring to 80°F by 3 p.m., breaking the previous high of 77°F set in 2018. Typically, the first 80-degree day in Las Vegas doesn’t arrive until March 14, with the earliest on record occurring on February 1, 2003.
The warm trend continues, with Tuesday’s forecasted high reaching 76°, which is the record set in 1953 for February 4.
A system moving through the Pacific Northwest is driving this warming trend, pushing temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal.
A First Alert is in place for Tuesday due to increasing winds. Gusts between 30-40 MPH will develop midweek, with the strongest winds expected on Friday. Friday may also bring a slight chance of mountain showers.
By the weekend, temperatures will gradually drop back to the low 60s, bringing some relief from the unseasonable warmth.
