New Daily Record High to Start the Week
Las Vegas set a new daily high record with the warm up on Monday afternoon. By 3pm, temperatures soared to 80° in Las Vegas, surpassing the previous 77° record set back in 2018. On average, the first 80° day in Las Vegas is not felt until March 14th. The earliest 80° on record in Las Vegas February 1, 2003.
The forecast high in Las Vegas will continue to push toward record-breaking territory. The forecast high in Las Vegas is 76° on Tuesday. The record for February 4th is also 76°, set back in 1953.
A system in the Pacific Northwest is bringing a warming trend, pushing temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal.
The First Alert is up for Tuesday -- not because of the increase of temperatures, but the increase in wind. Windy conditions will take over the rest of the week, with the First Alert up for Tuesday-Friday. Wind gusts will push 30-40 MPH, with the strongest wind expected on Friday. Friday will also bring about a slight chance of mountain showers.
By the end of the week, temperatures will gradually cool back down to the low 60s.
