First Winter Storm Of The Season Approaching
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -We’ve gone nearly 200 days without measurable rainfall.
That streak is about to end.
We are already seeing some light snow at higher elevations and some light drizzle in the valley.
The system bearing down on us will produce mountain snow and rain on and off through Tuesday.
This is a very slow moving system approaching us.
Snowfall totals in our local mountains ranges to a few inches to possibly more than a foot at higher elevations.
The Spring Mountains has a winter storm warning going into effect Sunday until Tuesday while the Sheep Range has a winter weather advisory.
Here in the valley because of the dry conditions we have been experiencing we are not expected to get much rain but at this point anything would be welcome.
The low will move east by Tuesday afternoon and we’ll stay dry the rest of the week.
