Windy & Cold MLK Day

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -The start of the week brings us the coldest temperatures of the season for Las Vegas.
Along with temperatures trending 5 to 10 degrees below normal, strong northerly wind will make it feel even colder.
For those going to the MLK Day parade, winds will start to pick up around the start of the parade and by the time it ends gusts could be in excess of 30 MPH.
A strong shortwave low will trigger a wind advisory for the Lower Colorado River Valley area Monday morning into Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday will be the coldest day so far in Las Vegas with forecast highs in the low 50′s and overnight lows in the upper 20′s.
Still waiting to see if a Hard Freeze Warning will be issued.
The cold air will move out Wednesday and temperatures will climb back to seasonal values for the rest of the week.
By Saturday another cold low from the Gulf of Alaska slides in bringing a new round of cool temperatures and even a risk of some showers for southern Nevada.
Mountain snow levels could drop down to 2000 to 3000 feet.
