Forecast Outlook - 01/08/2025
First Alert: Gusty Wind Continues Wednesday
The gusty wind will continue through Wednesday, though the High Wind Warning originally set to alert of potentially damaging wind in the Las Vegas Valley has now been downgraded.
The High Wind Warning does remain in place for neighborhoods to the east and south of Las Vegas, down the Colorado River Valley into Laughlin through 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Las Vegas Valley, along with the rest of Southern Nevada, is now set to remain under a Wind Advisory through 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Wind Advisory (gusts up to 45-55 mph) is a step down in severity/concern from the High Wind Warning (gusts up to 65 mph). The gusty wind will remain in the forecast through Wednesday morning, with wind speeds expecting to slow down throughout the day.
Clark County has also issued a Dust Advisory for Tuesday. Residents and local construction sites could see elevated levels of airborne dust through Tuesday evening.
We’ll see the breeze continue on Thursday with a forecast high 61°. Wind will be lighter into the weekend with dry weather continuing. High temperatures hold in the upper 50s and low 60s, with more wind in the forecast this weekend into early next week.
