Crews begin replacing pipes at Henderson townhomes
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The leaky pipes are being fixed at the Somerset Park townhome community in Henderson.
FOX5 has covered this story since it broke last month when residents of Somerset Park were facing an ultimatum -- if the pipes were not fixed in time, they’d have to move out.
As crews began working on it, several residents told FOX5 Monday morning they were relieved to see the work starting, especially after being faced with eviction.
“That was pretty stressful, just because I don’t want to be a burden on my parents,” one resident said. “I work hard for my money. And I’ve got a baby girl.”
The people living in Somerset Park see health as paramount in the effort to fix the pipes.
“I’m excited to see this get fixed,” the resident shared. “Because of the contamination of the water. We’ve got to take care of ourselves.”
Crews told FOX5 they expect to finish the work by the end of October.
