Mount Charleston hikers rescued on Thanksgiving

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -LVMPD Search and Rescue airlifted two hikers off Mount Charleston Thursday.
According to police, two people were hiking to the peak when one slipped and slid about 100-feet downhill into a frozen bush, breaking their ankle.
The rescuers anchored their axes in the ice and rappelled down to the hikers.
Search and rescue posted to their instagram where they explained both hikers were hoisted off the mountain, and taken to the hospital.
Rescuers shared although the hikers were experienced and equipped for the hike the trail was very icy.
