Henderson Animal Control looking for suspect who shot Red-Tailed Hawk with pellet gun
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Henderson Animal Care and Control are looking for the person responsible for illegally shooting a red-tailed hawk with a pellet gun.
Animal control says the red-tailed hawk was found with a severe wing fracture near I-11 and Lake Mead Parkway.

Henderson Animal Care and Control says the bird was later euthanized.
The bird’s death will now impact its mate, preventing her from having any other eggs due to their lifelong bonds.
These hawks are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so officers tell FOX5 they are determined to find who did this. That person may face felony charges.
If you know anything about the incident or who may have shot the bird, you are asked to contact City of Henderson Animal Care and Control at (702) 267-4980.
