1 dead, 1 injured in shooting in Historic Westside area, police say
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting near the Historic Westside area.
Police confirmed to FOX5 that one person was shot Monday at 3:02 p.m. near H Street and Owens Avenue at the Nucleus Plaza Shopping Mall.
Metro is searching for a suspect who is wanted for both shootings and at this time they do not have any details about the person they are looking for.
Take it from Lieutenant, Jason Johansson, who provided the limited details he could at a press briefing on Monday evening. “We do not know what prompted the shooting. We do not know or even have a detailed suspect description,” Lt. Johansson said.
Police say a man in his 40’s was shot multiple times and later died.
The other person is a male in his 50’s and was found shot multiple times in the strip mall parking lot. Police say he is in critical condition at UMC after undergoing surgery.
The location of the shooting was in two different locations within the strip mall at H Street and Owens Ave.
One of the victims shot was found inside a store that operates a trio of businesses that police said include a mental health facility, recording and podcast studio.
