Free power of attorney services available for undocumented parents in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A licensed notary agent and a paralegal in Las Vegas are providing free power of attorney document preparation to help undocumented parents establish a legal guardian for their children in case of detention or deportation.
The service allows parents to designate a trusted individual who can make decisions regarding their child’s education, healthcare, and daily needs if they are unable to do so.
“So, what we’re doing is power of attorneys that are notarized for children of undocumented parents,” said licensed notary agent, Kimberly Aquino.
For Paralegal Kimberly King, the situation is familiar, when she was a teenager, her father was deported. Leaving her younger sister in the foster care program, now she’s making sure children aren’t in the same predicament.
“I think everybody should have a plan, especially when you have children,” said King
While many families have concerns, King says having a plan is the best thing people can do.
For parents interested in this service, appointments can be scheduled online on the King Solutions website or by calling their office at 725-210-2555.
King will be hosting a pop-up event on March 1 starting at 11 a.m. in which different notaries will be preparing power of attorney documents for anyone who comes by their office located at 104 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107.
