Pedestrian struck, killed by car in northwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Las Vegas police said a pedestrian died in a northwest valley crash Wednesday morning.
Around 5:32 a.m., police say a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street outside a crosswalk on Durango and Corbett, near Tropical Parkway.
The 24-year-old man driving a 2018 Honda Accord north on Durango attempted to swerve, but still struck the pedestrian, police added.
Arriving medical crews determined that the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver was not impaired, police say.
“The pedestrian’s death marks the 21st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2025,” police say. “The collision remained under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
