Walmart lays off workers and asks others to relocate

(Gray News) - Walmart has laid off some workers and is relocating others at one of its corporate offices.

The Walmart corporate office in Charlotte, North Carolina, laid off more than 150 employees in September and is now closing that office.

Walmart is asking employees to move to other corporate offices in California and Arkansas.

A representative with the company told employees in a letter on Tuesday that the elimination of some roles will “streamline” how the company works.

Walmart recently opened its brand new “home office” in Bentonville, Arkansas, where the company has been headquartered since its founding.
