LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Court documents reveal Duane “Keffe D” Davis' defense team was approved to hire a private investigator.

Davis is facing murder charges related to the death of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas.

According to the court order, Davis is unable to pay for the investigative services himself to assist his defense. The court will cover the cost.

His lawyers hired Oliver Abejuela from KC investigations.

Investigative fees were authorized at the rate of $55 per hour, KC Investigations LLC will not exceed 100 hours to complete the investigation totaling around $5,500.

Davis' lawyer says “there are many significant issues that need to be investigated to effectively represent Mr. Davis,”

Additional battery charges unrelated to the Tupac murder case were filed against Davis on Friday, Jan 24.
